On 9th August, 2010, sponsored by SSAP, “Approaching Japan” & book release conference of Reading Japanese Book Series was held in CASS.
The project of Reading Japanese Book Series is jointly initialed by SSAP and The Sasakawa Peace Foundation, aiming to translate and introduce 100 kinds of books within 10 years. The contents of these books include various domains in Japanese politics, economy, culture etc, with the good will to enable Chinese public to have a comprehensive and accurate understanding towards Japanese social life and culture.
Yohei Sasakawa (the chairman of Sasakawa Peace Foundation), Li Wei (the director of Institute of Japanese Studies, CASS), Bu Ping (the director of Modern China Research, CASS), Zhou Yunfan (the director assistant of Bureau of International Cooperation, CASS), Xie Shouguang (the president of Social Sciences Academic Press) and dozens of experts and scholars in the field of Japanese Studies have attended the conference.
