Xie Shouguang: the Opportune Solution to Social Conflicts is Public Participation

Introduction to the Lecturer:

Mr. Xie Shouguang, president of Social Sciences Academic Press (China), Secretary of Chinese Sociology Association, and concurrently Deputy director of Social Survey Center, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He has been enjoying the special government allowance granted by the State Council since 1993, and he was granted with the “National Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Editor Award” in 1993, “Leading Talent for National Press and Publication Industry Award” in 2008, and “Taofen Publishing Award” in 2009. Besides, he is in charge of the editing of philosophical and social volume of Chinese Encyclopedia.

 How to view the current Chinese society and how to solve the mounting social conflicts nowadays? Economists, sociologists and politics may have different views. Mr. Xie Shouguang, as a sociologist, gave an excellent lecture on the problems in social construction and government and corresponding solutions concisely in Huafa Zhuhai Culture Forum on March 26^th.
