Blue Book of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster was Released

The Ninth Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Economic Forum and book Launch for Blue Book of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster (2012) took place in Hunan on 26th October 2012. Hu Pengguang, vice president of Social Sciences Academic Press, the publisher, spoke at the event about the book.

Professor Kuang Yuehui, Party School, Communist Party of China’s Hunan Provincial Committee, said that as The key to building a resource efficient and environmentally friendly society are energy saving and emissions reduction, which can not only promote sustainable use of resource, but also prevent and control industrial pollution.

The world is undergoing profound and complicated change and reform today. And China is at a new starting point in its reform and development. It must now speed up the transformation from a wasteful and low-cost production model to one characterized by more efficient use of resources and more advanced technology.. The basic point is for the country to transition from the traditional to a new kind of industrialization. Building a society that is resource efficient and environmentally friendly is not only the direction for and the goal of this transition, it is also the area where the most aggressive effort should be applied. The theme for this volume is, accordingly, the construction and the innovative improvement of such a society.

The event was jointly hosted by Research Board on Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster of Hunan province and Hunan Academy of Social Sciences, as well as the Research Centre on “Resource-Efficient and Environmentally-Friendly Society”.
