Beijing (ECNS) -- Nearly half of the fresh graduates in 2012 found jobs in small- and medium-sized private enterprises, according to a blue book on graduate employment released Sunday.
The "Chinese College Graduates' Employment Annual Report 2013" shows that 45 percent of college graduates and 61 percent of technical college graduates worked in private enterprises last year.
Small- and medium-sized enterprises with fewer than 300 staff recruited 48 percent of fresh graduates in 2012, 40 percent of whom had undergraduate degrees and 55 percent technical college degrees, the blue book says.
The report also says that 10.4 percent of college graduates worked as accountants in 2012, the biggest portion among other professionals, followed by salesman (10 percent) and administrative staff (8.7 percent).
Employment data from the past three years shows that more graduates have chosen to become accountants, while fewer have become salesman, it added.
The report was co-released by MyCOS Research Institute, a Beijing higher education consultancy, and the Social Science Academic Press.
