This book adopts an empirical research approach, using field interview data, publicly available data (such as the China Statistical Yearbook of each year, statistical bulletins on national economic and social development released by the National Bureau of Statistics and local statistical bureaus, the National Statistical Indicators of Basic Public Services and the China Rural Poverty Monitoring Report of each year) and relevant policy documents as the basis for analysis, and constructs an analytical framework for poverty reduction based on basic public services. Based on this research framework, the book further answers the practical question of how basic public services are involved in poverty reduction, i.e. the mechanisms and basic dimensions of the involvement of basic public services in poverty reduction. Based on case studies, this book summarizes and distills the analytical framework of poverty reduction based on basic public services, which will provide valuable insights for the promotion of rural revitalization in areas emerging from poverty after 2020.
