This book explores three main issues. Firstly, it makes a comprehensive comparison of the ancient sounds and rhythms of Wuyu and Chendi, and analyses the ins and outs of Chendi ancient sounds and their phonetic evidence, arguing that Wuyu’s achievements are much higher than Chendi in the history of Chinese ancient rhyme studies. Secondly, he points out the theoretical and practical shortcomings of traditional ancient rhyme research, and argues that the "Ye rhyme" criticised today is a theoretical approach to ancient rhyme research, and that "Ye rhyme" is more in line with Chinese language and the Chinese language as a whole than "Lixitang rhyme". It is believed that the "Ye rhyme" criticised today is a theoretical approach to the study of ancient rhymes. Thirdly, the concept of "heterogeneous coexistence" was put forward, and it was considered that "heterogeneous coexistence" was an indispensable basic theory for the study of Chinese language. The study of these three major issues reflects, to a certain extent, the latest level of Chinese language research.
