It contains 23 articles, which are divided into four parts: "the history and culture of Xinjiang", "modern foreign forces and Xinjiang, China", "modern Xinjiang in Western writing", and "foreign history". These articles cover the history, culture and society of modern Xinjiang, western cognition and penetration of Xinjiang, overseas Xinjiang research and historical archives. The articles compiled into this book are mostly monographic academic papers, which have a wide range of fields, relatively new contents, rich materials and objective views, and are helpful to understand the history, culture, society and relevant historical materials of modern Xinjiang.
