About the author(s):

This collection of 22 articles by an eclectic group of scholars from China, Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan offers readers an information dense and analytically rigorous account of the increasing importance of these other countries for China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The book has three parts. Part one, “Economy and politics in Eurasian Countries” focuses on the development of Eurasian countries, including Russia’s economic outlook under economic sanctions imposed by Western countries, and development of logistics, trade and tourism in countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt. Part two, titled “Linking Belt and Road with Eurasian Economic Union” covers issues such as global strategy and risk management in Kazakhstan. Articles in Part three “Economic cooperation under the Belt and Road framework” review progress in trade between China and Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan in areas such as finance, industrial development and transportation.
