Based on German Asia policy documents over the years, the book delineates "Asia" in the German government's vision, defines the specific scope of "Asia" in German eyes, and explains how it has changed. By examining Germany's Asian policy as a whole, we can better compare the similarities and differences between German policies in the region and gain a fuller understanding of the role and position of German policy towards China in German Asian policy as a whole, as well as the influence of other countries in the region on German policy.
