The theme of this year’s social security Blue Book is social security and social services. The contributions address such issues as the role and function of social services in the construction of the social security system, the state of social services and problems they face, and the equalization of availability and access. Contributors put forward suggestions for improving the social security system and the even distribution of basic public services. The book also contains a review of international experience in these areas and a discussion of what lessons China might learn from them.
