Annual Report on China’s Judicial System No.2（2020）comprehensively summarizes the practices and achievements of China’s judicial system in deepening the supporting reform of the judicial system，improving social governance capacity，optimizing the law-based business environment，improving the level of judicial protection of human rights in China，strengthening the role of the judicial system，giving full play to the role of smart justice and actively carrying out judicial actions against the COVID-19 outbreak. It also looks forward to the development trend of China’s judicial system. The Report this year evaluates for the first time the prison affairs disclosure of the Ministry of Justice and the provinces and autonomous regions （Xinjiang Construction Corps included），and analyzes the achievements，problems and development trends. In addition，focusing on such four themes as judicial system reform，judicial protection of human rights，judicial practice and smart justice，the Report this year has also launched a number of judicial research reports such as Recent Development and Evaluation of the Reform on the Judicial Responsibility System，Observation on the Development of Procuratorial Public Interest Litigation in China，Adjustment and Improvement of the Participation Scope of People’s Assessors，Progress in Judicial Protection of Children’s Rights and Interests，thus to show the changes and development of China’s judicial system in the past year，and summarize the latest achievements in national trials，prosecution，and judicial administration.
