From the 18th National Congress of CPC in 2012 to the 20th National Congress of CPC in 2022，China has gone through an extraordinary journey，and the income distribution has also experienced historic changes. Standing at the new development starting point，it is of great significance to examine the basic situation，trends and problems concerning income distribution in China. In the context of the severe three-year epidemic test，the cake of development continues to grow bigger，with urban and rural residents better sharing the achievements of reform，while the wage-based income gap between different employees remains large，and the income of employees in private sector grows slowly. In the meantime，the income distribution policy has played an important role in stabilizing growth，ensuring people’s livelihood and promoting harmony. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC，the adequacy and balance of income distribution have been greatly enhanced，but the income level of residents remains not high on the whole，and the income gap is still large. Therefore，thinking from the perspective of deepening the reform of income distribution and promoting the common prosperity for all，we should emphasize，and maintain the internal favorable trend of income distribution contributing to the achievement of common prosperity，deepen the understanding of the relationship between fairness and efficiency in the field of income distribution，and establish the concept of making-work-pay and comprehensive harmonious labour relations.
