The book is an examination of some of the main problems in social administration innovation in China today. It offers theoretical exploration and policy analyses of issues surrounding social administration, including what kind of system, overall plan, and risk assessment mechanism for threats to social stability are consistent with and serve the needs of a Chinese-style market economy. In particular, the book includes an in-depth analysis of the experiences in social administration innovation of nine exemplary districts designated by the Central Committee for Comprehensive Social Management and thirty-eight pilot cities.
