The integration of information technology and industrialization development is not only distinctive of a new path for industrialization but also a key source of energy fueling the transformation of economic and social development. With the rapid development and widening use of information technology, the integration of informatization and industrialization has opened doors to newer modes of production, promoted resource allocation that is more comprehensive and dynamic as well as optimal. It has become nations’ latest source of competitive advantage in this era of globalization.
By drawing on empirical studies of international and regional experiences, the authors’ primary objectives are to offer a comprehensive analysis of both the current state and development trends in informatization-industrialization integration for the country and by region, and to make policy recommendations for how to deepen it further.
