As a general review of the situation in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2012, the themes recommended by the editors of this volume are economic growth and political reform. The choice of these two sets of keywords is to find out more about the concrete characteristics of the annual development of the region, and intended to emphasize that the above two tasks is still generally unfinished on a global scale.
