Annual Report on the Development of New Media in China is a series of annual reports written and edited by the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The 2013 report has five sections: General Report, Hot Topics, Special Topics, Communication Research and Sector Reports. It is a comprehensive summary of the current status of new media in China. It also interprets the trends in new media and analyzes its revolutionary influences.
This book contains reports by dozens of authors exploring areas such as the development of microblogs in China, online journalistic communication, features of the communication of rumors, online political participation, online anti-corruption activities, social media' s political application, mobile Internet security, digitalization of newspapers, online advertisement, Internet culture, features of opinion leaders, and the Broadband China project.
