In the context of the “global political awakening” and the world of multi-polarization and economic integration, development in the Indian Ocean region faces both opportunities and challenges. At present, world and regional powers have begun to implement their strategies for the Indian Ocean to some extent. Through the implementation of the “Look East” policy, India is carrying out the Indian Ocean strategy and extending it from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, with the aim of playing a more active role in Asia and the world. The U.S. has shifted its strategic pivot to AsiaPacific to protect its economic interests and maintain U.S. military presence in the region with the aims of expanding U.S. strategic interests and maintaining its hegemonic position in the world.
