1 The Operation of Improving the Party’s Style of Work, Upholding Integrity and
Combating Corruption in China Has Achieved Vital Progress/011
Abstract: This article summarizes the practices and effects of the Operation of Improving the Party’s Style of Work, Upholding Integrity and Combating Corruption in the year of 2014 in six aspects, including purifying political environment by “cure the ill trees and remove the rotten tree”, amplifying the actual effects with problem-oriented supervision, restraining public power, overseeing public funds, properties and resources strictly, constructing the code of moral and conduct for public servants, and deepening the fostering of an honest and clean culture among the society. It reflects the commendation and expectation of the public towards the construction of the integrity of CPC based on field research, surveys and public opinion analysis. Furthermore, this article also puts forward some thinking and suggestions of the research group.

2 Procuratorates: Performing as Pioneers in the Combat Against Corruption/064
Abstract: Duty crimes are severe phenomena of corruption. Investigating and preventing duty crimes are vital responsibilities of the People’s Procuratorates given by the law. Since 18th National Congress of CPC, the People’s Procuratorates conscientiously implement the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee, perform their duties strictly in accordance with the law, carry on the principle of “targeting both the tigers and flies”, further diversify the resources of cases, utilize the method of “systemic investigation”, realize the function of unified investigation sufficiently, elaborate the balance mechanism of investigation supervision constantly, strengthen the team of procurators and optimize the environment of enforcement. With the measures above, procuratorates ensure their enforcement of the law to be strict, canonical, civilized and just, investigate a large amount of severe and reciprocal duty crimes with sensational effects in deep, keep the high pressure of the punishment towards corruption, perform as pioneers in the combat against corruption.

3 Ministry of Environment Protection Regulates Power and Realizes the Idea of
“Protect Environment for the People”/089
Abstract: Facing the double pressures from both the situation of environment protection and integrity risk, the Ministry of Environment adheres to the principle of “emphasize and complete the two tasks at one time”(Liangshouzhua, liangshouying).The ministry fully implements the spirit of the 18th National Congress of CPC about the strategy of promoting the construction of ecological civilization while devoting to improve the party’s style of work, uphold integrity and combat corruption considering the reality of environmental protection.The ministry is dedicated to strengthen the supervision and management of six industrial core authorities, namely administrative approval authority, administrative review authority, administrative law enforcement authority, capital distribution authority, goods purchase authority and personnel arrangement authority.Any offences against laws and disciplines are to be investigated and punished seriously by the ministry, and the ministry strengthens the construction of the party members’ work style, focusing on the protection of people’s ecological interests and rights. Till now, the unique ideas and mechanism of combating corruption and upholding integrity with the features of environmental protection industry has been formed, which provides powerful discipline guarantee for the improvement of environmental protection tasks.

4 Customs Guard the “Gate of Integrity” with Technology Innovations/109
Abstract: The modernization of discipline inspection and supervision capability is a part and the guarantee of the modernization of the capability of national governance. Anti-corruption with technological methods is an important symbol of the modernization of discipline inspection and supervision capability. Technology innovation is of special significance for customs to guard the defense lines of law enforcement and integrity, and to construct clean customs. In recent years, customs integrated technology into prevention and punishment of corruption, weaved a technological anti-corruption net with Early Warning and Processing System towards customs’ enforcement of law as its core, kept a close eye on the process of power operation, recognized integrity risks at early stage, ensured custom regulations be obeyed without harming the efficiency of custom clearance, and achieved the “win-win” effect that punish smuggling and corruption simultaneously. The practices of customs provide enlightenments and inspirations for the punishment and prevention against corruption in the era of big data: in the combat against corruption, the comprehensive capability of technology should get more attention, optimization of technological methods should be more emphasized, responsibilities and duties of discipline inspection and supervision organizations should be clarified, system of the punishment and prevention against corruption needs to be constructed, modernization level of discipline inspection and supervision capability needs to be promoted.

5 Development and Regulations of Internet Public Supervision in China/137
Abstract: Public supervision on Internet is sort of extension of the traditional media supervision in the new media era. Because of the rapid popularization of Internet in China, Internet public supervision is also developing prosperously, and it has become a powerful weapon to fight against corruption. The Party and government pay high attention to the role of Internet public supervision in the institutionalization process of combat corruption and uphold integrity, consider Internet public supervision as an important part in the construction process of punishment and prevention system against corruption, and implement that consideration into practice. However, as a new type of public supervision, Internet public supervision in China is still in the stage of fast-growing juvenility. Therefore, flaws are unavoidable in Internet public supervision. As a result, both encouragements and regulations are essential.

6 Guangdong Province Creates New Systemic and Mechanic Advantages to Fight

Abstract: Since third Plenary Session of 18th National Congress of CPC, Guangdong Province solidly advances the reform of discipline inspection system, which is an experimental duty given by the Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Central Committee of the CPC, positively encourages systemic innovations of anti-corruption from grass-roots concerned with reality, and constantly creates new systemic and mechanic advantages to achieve new progress and results in the attempt to improve party’s style of work, uphold integrity and combat corruption. In Guangdong province, atmosphere of “dare not corrupt” is primarily formed, efficient mechanism of “incapable of corrupt” and “not willing to corrupt” is establishing step by step.

Abstract: Since 18th National Congress of CPC, all levels of discipline inspection organizations in Guizhou province carry out the CCDI’s command to transfer their function, methods, and work style, highlight main tasks, focus on hotspots and cruxes, improve party’s style of work, uphold integrity and combat corruption, supervise officials, enforce disciplines and investigate accountabilities strictly in accordance with law, strengthen the supervision over funds related to agriculture and people’s livelihood projects, investigate offences against discipline and laws seriously, engage in solving outstanding problems that harm the interests of the people, advance the construction of Government Affairs Centre and Trade Center of Public Resource, and achieved much new progress as well as many new effects.

Abstract: In recent years, Henan determines to improve party’s style of work, uphold integrity and combat corruption with tremendous resolution and courage in the meantime of advancing reform and development unswervingly. In Henan, the consciousness of integrity among party members and cadres grows apparently, the spread tendency of corruption is primarily contained, mechanism of balance and supervise power is further improved, work style of the Party and government is entirely refreshed, which provide firm political backup for Henan to achieve its goal of comprehensive development.

9 Shaanxi Province Promotes the Level of Combating Corruption and Upholding Integrity
with the Policy of “Two Insistences and Two Reliances”/223
The year 2014 saw ramped-up efforts by the Chinese government to combat corruption and build a clean government. The book aims to help readers gain a deeper understanding of the Communist Party of China’s commitment on this front, such as it was articulated during and since the 18th CPC Central Committee, and achievements so far.
