This is the first volume in the yearbooks series that focuses on China’s cruise tourism, an emerging industry. Contributors offer an authoritative account of the development of the industry in 2014 and the outlook for 2015 by drawing on professional knowledge and reliable data. In addition to examining background conditions to the industry’s growth in terms of the international environment, and China’s economic and social development, the volume tries to identify the development pattern and operational characteristics of the cruise industry. Contributors also discuss some of the prominent problems and issues in this field, and present their forecast for the industry’s development during the remaining years in the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
