Automobile Safety Blue Book is an annual report on the development of China’s auto safety. Since the publication of the first issue in 2014, this report has attracted attention of related players in the auto industry. This book is the second issue of the report; it is edited and written by experts from China Automotive Technology & Research Center and related manufacturers.

This annual report includes analysis on road transport accidents and suggestions on auto safety management, integrated development of automobile safety technology and intelligent transport system, analysis on the influence of auto safety on the consuming activities of auto consumers, auto safety standards in foreign countries, current research focus of C-NCAP, anti-whiplash injury standard, auto frontal collision passenger protection standard, technology requirements and testing method for the braking systems of commercial vehicles and trailers, analysis on safety standard for EVs after collision, development situation of seat belt, airbag and ESC system etc., the innovation and application of auto companies’ advanced safety technologies, and evaluation on performance of seat belt products etc.

With China’s economic development and the improvement of road traffic conditions, auto ownerships show a rapid growth, however, traffic safety situation becomes increasingly grim due to the increase in traffic accidents. Among the impact of traffic accidents, People, Vehicle and Road, and other factors, automobile is a very important factor. Over the years, the development and implementation of auto safety standards for the improvement of China’s auto safety technology level plays an important role, but the standard system should be further improved in order to narrow the gaps in auto industry between China and other developed countries. Auto companies will develop and apply automotive safety technology as the strategic tool to enhance the competitiveness of the products and to continuously meet the requirements of consumers. To promote the innovation and development of automotive safety technology, to comprehensively grasp the development of China’s auto safety situation and improve the standard regulatory system and the safety performance of vehicles are important to reduce traffic accidents and injuries to occupants and pedestrians, and increase the overall strength of China’s auto industry.

Automobile Safety Blue Book is the first authoritative publication automotive industry.
