2 Analysis of the Structure of Chinese Sports Competition Industry in 2011/020
Abstract: The study on China sporting events in examined 1616 events on Chinese mainland (among which 372 are international events, and 1244 are domastic events), and systematically described the development of China sporting events.1616 sporting events were characterized by 5 aspects, including the types, disciplines, timing, locations, and venues of sporting events. The study discussed the different characteristics toward the types, timing, locations, and venues of sporting events. The study analyzed the relations between the host of sporting events and the economic development, market size and sports development, and conducted an in-depth analysis of the factors influencing on the host of sporting events.

From the following three perspectives namely the joint management between government and society, the commercialization within amateurism, and the co-existence of the eligibility and success, the research discusses the performance of amateurism as the core concept of the western intercollegiate athletics. Furthermore, learnt from the western experience, the research appeals to the Chinese intercollegiate athletics to transform the sport values, rationalize the governing body, and promote the commercialization.
