2020 Annual Report on Health Insurance of China is an annual series report of Blue Book of Health Insurance. The main contents are as follows.
The general report reviews the overall development of China’s health insurance industry in 2019. It is believed that the health insurance industry has achieved rapid growth under the policy guidance of the regulatory authorities’ efforts to develop a guarantee business. Health insurance remained stable in business structure. The explosion of public demand has helped to keep health insurance growing rapidly. Simultaneously, due to the strict policy supervision, medical insurance gradually step into standardized development. Product innovation such as special medicine insurance and long-term medical insurance deserve attention, and the internet sales growth of health insurance is noticeable. With the advent of an aging population, the acceleration of industrial integration and science & technology empower, and the release of the newly revised Health Insurance Management Measures, the health insurance industry has a broad development prospect.
The market reports section includes five special reports.
China’s Health Insurance Product Report (2019) points out that health insurance products are the concentrated embodiment of health insurance services. After the insurance industry restructuring in the past three years, critical illness insurance is still the top commercial health insurance in China. The introduction of adjustable premium rate long-term medical insurance has injected new momentum into the market. As a new type of insurance, long-term care insurance came into the market and obtained a certain level of acceptance.
China’s Health Management Development Report (2019) points out that the health management industry is still in its infancy, and the integration model of health management and health insurance is not mature. At present, the insurance market’s health management mainly focuses on the health services for the sick, and the service category needs to be further broadened. The institutional innovation report section discusses the reform of the public-private partnership system of basic medical insurance.
