The year 2020 marked the continued deepening and improvement of the information system 3.0 version of the people’s courts，China court information construction is already a world leader. In particular，during the epidemic prevention and control period，China’s smart courts “showed their talents”. In terms of trials，many fruitful attempts and efforts have been made around such new models as construction of full-service online handling，smart court trials，and Internet trials. In terms of enforcement，through comprehensive upgrade of the case handling enforcement system and other measures，the level of enforcement intelligence is improved，and the modernization of the enforcement work system and capability are gradually realized. In the aspect of litigation service，intellectualization not only effectively reduces the judicial burden，but also better protects the rights and interests of the people，providing the parties with inclusive，equal，convenient，efficient，intelligent and accurate litigation services. In the year 2020，the data platform has been improved in China’s courts，which has assisted the trial enforcement through judicial big data，changed the working mode in the courts and reduced judicial discrimination and bias.

The Annual Report on Informatization of Chinese Courts No.5 （2021） comprehensively summarizes the latest progress of court informatization based on such topics as smart trial，smart trial management，smart enforcement，blockchain，and judicial big data，establishes a “frontier informatization” section，focusing on the theoretical and practical frontier issues such as artificial intelligence，machine learning，and blockchain，and puts forward the research reports on Third-Party Assessment on “Smart Court”，the application of artificial intelligence in legal analysis of judicial adjudication and deepening the construction of smart court with knowledge as the center. The annual report also introduces the experience and achievements of the informatization of local courts in Beijing，Shanghai，Chongqing，Sichuan，Shandong，Guangdong and other places，and looks forward to the progress of court informatization nationwide in 2021.
