It is committed to service for government decision-making, reference for scholars to study and helping enterprises grasp the industry dynamics. Promote the high-quality development of Guangzhou cultural industry with strength of the government, industry and research.
Annual Report on Cultural Industry of Guangzhou (2021) is composed of 7 parts, including General Report, Comprehensive Chapter, Guangzhou-Foshan City Chapter, Industry Chapter, The Regional Chapter, Mutual Exchange, and Cases Chapter. The general report pointed out that during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period, Guangzhou’s cultural industry has grown rapidly, the quality of development has been continuously improved, investment in cultural industries has increased, the number of cultural industry parks has continued to increase, market entities have further grown, and the increase of cultural listed companies has accelerated. The development of new business forms is strong, the cultural “going out” has made breakthroughs, and the promotion of the construction of cultural cities has achieved new results. In 2020, Guangzhou took effective measures to overcome the impact of the epidemic, making every effort to promote the resumption of work and production of cultural tourism enterprises, further enhancing the concentration of cultural industry resources, promoting the implementation of major cultural tourism industry projects, accelerating the digital transformation of the cultural industry, and promoting the high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry. In 2020, the overall performance of Guangzhou’s cultural industry was stable against the background of the epidemic. The city’s cultural and related industries above designated size achieved an operating income of 402.642 billion yuan, and the development trend gradually returning to stability and improving. The report pointed out that with the recovery of the global economy, a good start to the “14th Five-Year Plan”, increased policy support, and the opportunities brought by Guangzhou’s urban renewal to the cultural industry, Guangzhou’s cultural industry will further accelerate its digital transformation and compete in the global market.
In addition to General Report, “Comprehensive Chapter” reflects the different focuses of Guangzhou’s cultural industry development from the aspects of cultural industry innovation and development, transformational development, cooperative development, cultural consumption. “Guangzhou-Foshan City Chapter” analyzes the integration and development of cultural industries, the construction of modern cultural industry systems, and the urbanization of public cultural services under the background of Guangfo city; “Industry Chapter” focuses on the Guangzhou jewelry industry, reflecting the development status and prospects of a subdivision of cultural industry in Guangzhou from the perspectives of the city, industrial parks and enterprises; “Regional Chapter” chooses Tianhe District, Guangzhou, reflecting the promotion of cultural industry development in Tianhe District from the three aspects : cultural industry integration development, digital transformation and the role of cultural capital in the transformation of the old city; “Cases Chapter” introduces the exploration of transformation, upgrading and innovation development of representative cultural enterprises in Guangzhou. “Mutual Exchange Chapter” introduces the experience and inspiration of Macao and Nanjing in developing cultural industry and the summary of experience in benchmarking cultural enterprises to build industrial ecology.
