Annual Report on China’s Cruise Industry (2021) is an annual research report compiled by famous experts and scholars in the cruise industry at home and abroad organized by Shanghai University of engineering and technology and Shanghai International Cruise economic research center according to the latest development situation of the world and China’s cruise industry chain. It is an important part of the “leather book series” of Social Science Literature Publishing House. This year’s “cruise green book” is the eighth in this series of publications. It consists of four parts:general report, special topic:Construction of cruise and port epidemic prevention and control system in China, industry and planning and development. The content system is perfect and has strong foresight. This book summarizes the development situation of global and Chinese cruise industry chain from 2020 to 2021 in the form of general report, and studies and judges the latest situation of Chinese cruise industry through ten hot spots.
The novel coronavirus pneumonia has a serious negative impact on the global and China cruise industry chain development, resulting in large-scale cruise ship suspension, making the development of major cruise companies face severe economic pressure. In the process of resuming cruise operations in some regions of Europe and the United States,China,as the world’s first cruise market to be completely suspended, has great uncertainty in the full resumption of cruise under the deployment of strengthening epidemic prevention and control. In particular, the delta virus has caused the epidemic to spread again, raising the uncertainty of China’s cruise resumption again. This year,China has vigorously promoted the construction of cruise ports, forming five cruise port groups in North China,East China,Southeast China,South China and South China Sea,and vigorously promoted the construction of emerging cruise terminals in Pingtan,Fujian,Wenzhou,Zhejiang,Beihai,Guangxi and Zhanjiang,Guangdong. However,China’s cruise ports have not established a good profit model and mainly rely on cruise berthing business. At present,China’s cruise ports are basically unable to normally carry out cruise operation business, which makes the cruise terminal duty-free stores, cruise ship supply,VIP services, cruise port stores and so on unable to operate normally, making the cruise port operation companies basically zero income.
