Description:

Based on the basic framework of China’s sustainable development evaluation index system, the report makes a comprehensive and systematic data validation analysis and ranking of China’s sustainable development in 2019 from three levels:country, province and key cities. The analysis of the data validation results of the national sustainable development index system shows that China’s sustainable development situation continues to improve steadily. From 2015 to 2019,China’s sustainable development level shows a steady increase year by year, with an obvious jump in economic strength,a general improvement in people’s livelihood,an overall improvement in resources and environment, remarkable results in consumption and emission control, and gradually prominent effects in governance and protection. The analysis of the data verification results of the provincial sustainable development index system shows that the four municipalities directly under the central government and the eastern coastal provinces rank higher in sustainable development, with Beijing,Shanghai,Zhejiang,Guangdong,Tianjin,Fujian,Jiangsu,Hubei,Chongqing and Sichuan ranking the top ten,and Hubei ranking the highest in the central region, ranking eighth. The analysis of the data verification results of the sustainable development index system of 100 large and medium-sized cities shows that the eastern cities have made remarkable progress in sustainable development, among which Hangzhou ranks first in the national sustainable development for the first time, and the top ten cities are:Hangzhou,Zhuhai,Guangzhou,Beijing,Wuxi,Shenzhen,Suzhou,Wuhan,Nanjing and Zhengzhou. According to the report,China has entered a new stage of development and is also in a critical period of sustainable development transformation. It is necessary to firmly implement the new development concept, speed up the construction of a new development pattern, continuously push forward the UN 2030 sustainable development agenda, dynamically maintain an organic balance among economy, society and environment, and promote China to achieve more inclusive, resilient and greener sustainable development. The report also made special studies on several topics such as public health, double carbon target and digital infrastructure, and made case studies on Hechi,Chengdu,Kunshan,Shenzhen,Zhuhai and Guilin, and summarized and analyzed some sustainable development practices at the enterprise level.
