China Social Enterprise Development Research Report No.1 is the cooperation working result from the School of International and Public Affairs，the China Philanthropy Development Research Institute，the Chinese and Foreign Social Enterprise Research Center at Shanghai Jiao tong University and the China Social Governance Research Association. This book is based on the data of the “Chinese Social Enterprise Industry Survey Questionnaire” jointly compiled and distributed by the China Philanthropy Development Research Institute of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Chinese Social Enterprise Service Center（CSESC），combined with the survey data of the authors. The social enterprises said in this research mainly refer to social organizations and enterprises with operating income that have been certified as social enterprises or are applying for certification to solve social problems.

The book consists of six parts：general report，sub-reports，special reports，regional reports，case studies and appendix. The general report reviews the development of Chinese social enterprises，sorts out the development process of social enterprises，looks forward to the prospects of the development of Chinese social enterprises，and lays the foundation for subsequent analysis. In the Part of sub-reports，we introduce the general certification standards，operation mode and talent team building of social enterprises in general，and in-depth discussion of the key challenges faced by the development of social enterprises. In the Part of special reports，based on the analysis of social enterprises，it is derived to support networks，charity，community services，social innovation，social entrepreneurship，social economy and environmental governance innovation and other fields，and we analyzes the development of social enterprises from different aspects. At the same time，reports from the four regions of Beijing，Chengdu，Shunde and Hangzhou reveals the status quo of the development of social enterprises in our country，and further demonstrates the common ground of outstanding social enterprises through case studies. Finally，the development of our country’s social enterprises is sorted out through the appendix part.
