Guided by Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,China's education inspection has continued to put forward the 24 reform tasks in five major areas proposed in the Opinions on deepening reform of the institutional mechanisms for educational supervision in the new era in 2022.China has fundamentally built a systematic mechanism for education inspection that is comprehensive in coverage,efficient in operation,authoritative in results,and powerful in accountability.China's education inspection focuses on promoting the high-quality development of education and providing education to the satisfaction of the people,as well as on the central and key work of education.By overcoming epidemics,strengthening the oversight over policy implementation,school operation and optimizing the evaluation,education inspection has played an irreplaceable role in ensuring the implementation of education policies and guidelines and in promoting the sustained and healthy development of education.In view of the new situation and new mission of the new era,education inspection is facing some challenges.In the coming years,it needs to comprehensively deepen the reform of the institutional mechanism for education inspection,consolidate and expand the results of the three-year reform,and continue to exert efforts in the management system,operation mechanism,accountability mechanism,workforce development and guarantee mechanism of education inspection.
