In 2022,the ups and downs of the COVID-19 and the gunfire-filled conflict between Russia and Ukraine have intensified geopolitical games,and the international pattern has moved towards compound pluralism.The overall development trend of international law exhibits the characteristics that the Russia-Ukraine conflict impacts the existing principles,rules and mechanisms of international law,the competition for the dominance of international rule-making is still cut-throat,and the judicialization of political and diplomatic games becomes increasingly prominent.As a responsible and the largest developing country in the world,China has always hammered at upholding multilateralism with the principled method to justice and interests,taken a coordinated approach to the rule of law at home and in matters involving foreign parties,and maintained the international order based on international law.Correspondingly,China has made remarkable achievements in enriching and innovating foreign-related legislation and judicial practice,promoting the development of international law through diplomacy,advancing the reform of international governance system and developing autologous international law theories.In 2023,China will deepen the research and application of international law with respect to building the independent knowledge system of international law to fill the shortcomings within the construction of foreign-related rule of law,and improving the ability of international communication and competition by applying international law,so as to expedite the cultivation of high-quality foreign-related rule of law talents and contribute to the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
