With the evolution of the global landscape, the times and history of Middle East are undergoing profound changes and the development of Middle East comes into a historical turning point. On one hand, development becomes the priority choices of Middle Eastern countries and strategic autonomy has become a notable feature of many Middle Eastern countries; and on the other hand, the “reconciliation tide” continues to expand, and seeking reconciliation is the realistic choice of the Middle Eastern countries. Global climate governance agenda comes into the “Middle East Moment”, Middle Eastern countries' active role in global governance and commitment to sustainable development are changing the course of history in the region. At the same time, the development of the Middle East region still faces a series of severe challenges, such as the competition between major powers in the Middle East, interference from external forces, regional turbulence, especially the intensification of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, rising security risks, and persistent development difficulties. As a result, those above mentioned challenges weakened the strategic autonomy of Middle Eastern Countries, as well as hold back the fully expanding of “reconciliation tide” in this region, which makes the Middle East peace process still labeled with fragility, permanence and repeatability. However, in the long run, the Middle East region is gradually emerging out of the “long wave of upheaval” since 2010 and beginning to show a different “new Middle East”.
