About the author(s):

Description:

As an annual report on the latest progress and current conditions in China, The China Educational Development Yearbook, Volume 1 is informative, empirical, and research-based. This book describes progress made in the last two years in compulsory, vocational, higher, rural, private and early childhood education, and discusses hot issues such as the reform of primary education curriculum, education for migrant children, rural substitute teachers, educational scandals and teaching foreigners Chinese. I believe readers will attain an in-depth understanding of China’s educational goals and progress.

The major problem with China’s educational system is the lack of public participation. The fact that this book was compiled by the 21st Century Educational Development Research Institute, a non-governmental organization, demonstrates our efforts to make up for that. The Educational Development Yearbook, Volume One observes progress in education from the perspective of a non-governmental organization. The Institute endeavors to work as a non-governmental think tank and to contribute to the development of education by improving professional competence.
