China has begun to provide foreign aid to other countries since the 1950s. The effective implementation of this policy has not only changed the strategic pattern of Western countries’ blockade of the People’s Republic of China, but has also played a very important role in expanding and deepening China’s economic and political relations with the vast number of developing countries, restoring its legitimate position in the United Nations and then promoting international development cooperation. This book is a series of research results of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in the field of foreign aid in Europe. It is based on a large number of Chinese foreign aid history and technical materials, and is aimed at refuting accusations the Western media, scholars and NGOs made because of their little knowledge about China’s foreign aid. While systematically introducing the historical evolution of China's foreign aid, the book attempts to understand the endogenous laws of China's foreign aid.
