In recent years, professor Gao Bingzhong and his graduate students went to overseas for field research, they have been to America, Australia, India, Malaysia and so on. They have got important achievements. Although these results are still in preliminary stage, they have symbolic significance: it marked that Chinese sociology and anthropology workers started from the need of our country, made studies of overseas including western countries by universal visions. This book has chosen the achievements of Gao Bingzhong. The first part mainly discussed significance of social science research caused by overseas ethnography, the second and third parts mainly showed parts of the results that worked on overseas ethnography.
