The book gives systematic studies on the definition of the Bay area and Bay area economy, the famous bay areas in the world and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Marco Greater Bay areas, and Hangzhou bay area, and tries to the concepts of the economic development of bay area, formation mechanism, and relative polices, and the rule of development of bay area economy.

The book is divided into three sections. Section one gives a presentation of the concepts of bay area economy, mechanism, evaluation index. Section two provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic development of bay areas at home and abroad, and also explores the development basics and conditions of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Marco Greater Bay areas and Hangzhou bay area, which probably will be in the list of the first-class bay area in the future. Section three explains how Shenzhen constructs to be the first-class Bay area city, and analyzes the strategies and practical pathways, and general proposition of constructing the Shenzhen-Hongkong Bay area.

The book will be the first monograph to explore the economic issues of the Bay area.
